Why JewBelong?

"As a convert, I struggled to find a place for my family and I in Jewish texts - especially where the holidays were concerned - until I found JewBelong. I love how accessible and inclusive Judaism becomes through the lens of JewBelong.

Do you have a quick JewBarrassment story?

"On the eve of hosting my first formal Shabbat for my boyfriend's (now husband's) family, I realized I had no kiddush cup, candle sticks, or challah cover. I ran over to a Judaica store a few blocks away and selected some beautiful things. As I was checking out, I was chatting with the lovely older woman (with more lipstick on her teeth than lips) and telling her all about the meal I was cooking for Shabbat. She looked at my items and exclaimed, "This is a Havdallah set! Don't you know?!" To which I responded that I was just toeing into Judaism and indeed, I did not know. She helped me find the right candlesticks for the occasion and we still use them on Friday nights."
