Why JewBelong?

"I love the reality of a faith-inspired organization that accepts me for who I am — only vaguely observant yet happily and authentically engaged in the culture Judaism inspires."

Do you have a quick JewBarrassment story?

"Frozen egg rolls! My mother was raised in a kosher household, married my father who couldn’t speak a word of Hebrew, and kept a quasi-kosher household when I was growing up. One weekend when my parents were away, a strictly kosher uncle and aunt watched my brothers and I. Prior to their arrival, my mother emptied the freezer of everything treyf—- which heartbreakingly included a full box of ChunKing frozen egg rolls!"

  • If I were on "America's Got Talent," I would sing a medley of songs by the Gershwins.
  • I absolutely refuse to share my collection of vintage Matchbox cars.
  • In high school, I was known for my rapier keen wit and fear of girls.
  • I can cook a mean bowl of oatmeal.
  • My favorite TV show ever is obviously The Days and Nights of Molly Dowd. Gotta love Blair Brown.
  • Don't judge, but David Copperfield is on my nightstand.
  • Aside from JewBelong, my favorite Instagram influencer/feed is nothing. I avoid social media at all costs. Slippery slope, my friend.
  • My dog/cat is great at 1 thing and 1 thing only. It's barking at buses. Consistently annoying and unfixable.
  • Karaoke? Count me in! I’m singing,“If I Ruled The World” (Tony Bennett version).
  • Bartender! Please make me a(n) Vesper — 2 parts vodka, 2 parts gin, one part Lillet.
  • If The Basie Band is playing, I’ll be on the dance floor.
  • Best musical? Bette Midler’s version of “Hello, Dolly.”
