Why JewBelong?

Alex, while not Jewish, has spent his entire life in the vibrant Jewish communities of New York and South Florida. Alex grew up with a Kabbalist mother, his Finnish ancestors played a role in an Underground Railroad that helped Jewish people escape persecution, and throughout his life, he has experienced the warmth and inclusion of the Jewish community. Alex joined JewBelong to help Jewish people, and people like himself, who aren’t Jewish but are part of a Jewish community, to find the joy, meaning, and sense of connection that Judaism has to offer.

  • Don’t judge, but everything is on my nightstand (seriously, this reminds me I need to organize).
  •  I absolutely refuse to share my Crystal Light Lemonade.
  • Pets? You bet! Wally is a Corgi – she’s a big fan of her whole herd working from home!.
  • Bartender! Please make me a mint julep.
  • I can cook a mean shakshuka.

Alex was born to a Finnish mother, a Finnish-Colombian father, spent his formative years in South Florida, and grew up speaking Swedish – the most commonly spoken language among his linguistic melting pot of a family. Alex began his marketing career in TV advertising before transitioning to a role spearheading digital strategy for Artnet, the world’s leading online resource for the international art market. Today, Alex is charged with leading all things digital at JewBelong with the mission to grow our community and spread the joy of Judaism through a quantitative, detail-oriented approach to marketing.
